Madonna Yesterday!

So, I went to the concert last night and all I can say is "Oh my God, I saw Madonna!" She really puts on a show; there were elaborate set pieces, giant video screens, and multiple costume changes. My seats were in the $100 area but I had binoculars so when using them it felt like I was in the $200 area (the binoculars were also good for celebrity-spotting, with which I was able to spot Rosie O'Donnell in the front row).

I didn't even mind her playing "I Love New York", nor did I mind her cursing at us for not enjoying the song enough for a New York crowd. But it was worth the ticket price to see the infamous "'Live To Tell' on a disco cross".

The only downside was that the concert was scheduled to start at 8:00 PM and it actually started at 9:15 PM.

Madonna Tonight!

In a few hours I will be seeing Madonna perfom at Madison Square Garden in New York City!

I have been avoiding spoilers for the last month so it won't be spoiled - I've been trying really hard! So tomorrow I will write a review; hopefully something than "Oh my God, I saw Madonna!" repeated twenty times.

Mp3 Monday: Ai Otsuka

Last year for my friends and I the song of the summer was "Sakuranbo" by Ai Otsuka, despite the fact that the song was a year old. This weekend, I bought her 2nd album, LOVE JAM, and it seems to me that Ai creates the perfect summer music. It's cute, sometimes peppy, sometimes laid-back, and sometimes sweet, and is great for dancing to or just hanging out.

This week's mp3 is "Daisukidayo", which translates to "I Love You", and is one of Ai's ballads. It's the third single from LOVE JAM and a cute animated video of the song appears on the DVD included with the CD. However, if you want to hear her peppy side too, I'm linking to two of her videos - her 2nd single "Sakuranbo" and her most recent single "Frienger" - which are both upbeat.

See what a shave and a suit will do?

That's Kevin Federline. I know, I didn't believe it at first either. He looks like such a nice young man! It's unfortunate that it's just for a photoshoot. He's still scuzzy.

Missed Mp3 Mondays: Special Saturday Edition

Hello, dear reader(s), I'm here to say I'm not dead! I couldn't update at all because I was sick with a cold from hell, and then I had my senior prom. But since that's all done now I'll make it up to everyone with three mp3s!

The first mp3 is from Tina Karol, who got Ukraine a respectable 7th place at Eurovision last month. She was just so entertaining and perky I had to search out some more of her songs. This one is "Vyshe Oblakov", which translates to "Higher than the clouds".

The second song is "Maybe" by former Baby Spice Emma Bunton. I first heard this song on a hits compilation that I bought in Italy two years ago. Apparently it was released as a single over here in the US too, but I never heard it on the radio. According to Wikipedia she is working on her third solo album. Anyways, here's the song.

The last song for today is "Voglia Di Dance All Night" by Eiffel 65, the guys behind that song "Blue" that was everywhere a couple years ago. This was on the same compilation CD that the Emma song was. Into The Groove posted the English version of this song back in February, but if you believe it's better to listen to music in its original language, you can listen to this, the original Italian version.
